How long does dragonflies live for?
As an adult, most dragonflies live for only a few weeks. There are some individuals that can last months, and in some cases even migrate ...After transformation and emergence as winged adults, dragonflies main purpose is to find a mate and create the next generation. Those who survive predation, and who do not starve or die because of weather conditions, "can live an average of 6 to 8 weeks" in this aerial phase.
